UNIT DESCRIPTOR:
This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to conduct the inspection and per-operation tests, positioning, setting up and operation of elevating work platforms in accordance with AS 1418 and AS 2550 part 10
PRE-REQUISITES:
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Applicants must be able to read and comprehend english.
COURSE CONTENT:
The Elevated Work Platform Training Plan is based on the Unit of Competency within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF):
TLILIC0005 - Licence to operate a boom-type operated elevating work platform (11 metres or greater)
Legislation in the Workplace - OSH Acts and regulations, Specific regulations dealing with cranes and AS1418 and AS2550 part 10, National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work. - Boom Type Elevating work Platforms Competency Units.
Plan Work - Elevating Work Platform type and reach requirements, job requirements, priorities, Workplace Rules and Procedures, identifying hazards and hazard control measures, communication and emergency procedures.
Boom-Type/Elevating Work Platform Operation - Pre-start/Pre-operation checks, set-up outriggers/stabilizers, Load Chart interpretation, AS 2550.10 - Cranes Safe Use - Elevated Work Platforms.
CERTIFICATION:
A statement of attainment for module TLILIC0005 will be issued upon successful completion of the course in addition to a WorkSafe 60 day interim notice of assessment.
FORKLIFT TRUCK Class LF
TLILIC0003 Licence to operate Forklift Truck
UNIT DESCRIPTOR:
This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to undertake the inspection and pre-operation tests, driving, manoeuvring and the lifting and relocating of loads using a forklift in accordance with AS 2359.2
PRE-REQUISITES:
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Applicants must be able to read and comprehend English.
COURSE CONTENT:
The Forklift Training Plan is based on the Unit of Competency TLILIC0003 within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) and Safe Work Australia Assessment Instrument:
Legislation in the Workplace - OSH Acts and regulations (Duty of Care), National Guidelines for Occupational Health and Safety Competency Standards for the Operation of Load Shifting Equipment and other types of specified equipment [NOHSC 7019 (1992)], AS 2359.1 (Jib Attachments) & AS 2359.2 (Requirements, qualifications and training of operators)
Plan Work - Lift - truck type and capacity requirements, stability attachments, workplace rules and procedures, workplace hazards and priorities.
Lift Truck Operation - Main components of an industrial truck, pre-start/pre-operation checks, data plate identification/interpretation, operating procedures, shift loads.
Practical Training - Operate industrial lift - truck after conducting pre-start/pre-operational checks, shift various loads and perform shelf stacking at different heights and load/unload truck, shut down/post operational checks carried out, parking up.
